King Zwelithini visits Kizo
November 2007

Kizo was proud to host His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini in November 2007. His Majesty spent almost one hour touring the Gallery and looking at the artwork. King Zwelithini was extremely impressed by the beaded chandelier that was completed for him by The Umcebo Trust. The chandelier, entitled Ulundi, was commissioned by Kizo Art Consultants for The Heritage Arts Festival 2007. Craig Mark, the director of Kizo, considering the theme of the festival and the title of the chandelier felt it only fitting that it be presented to his Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini in order that it permanently remains with the Zulu Royal Family.

The craftsmen of The Umcebo Trust, a non for profit entity are Building a reputation for their wonderful intricate beadwork and fine workmanship. His Majesty requested to meet the craftsmen responsible for the creation of the chandelier when it is was officially handed over in front of the media early in 2008.
