Kizo Art Consultants is a non for profit Section 21 Company and is a major contributor to the promotion of the South African art and heritage sectors.

Kizo established and has successfully coordinated the highly successful annual Heritage Awards, the Heritage Arts Festival‚ the premiere annual arts festival in KwaZulu Natal and the Retail Art Development Programme since 2007.


Kizo Art Consultants was launched in 2005 by Minister Narend Singh the Minister of Arts and Culture at the time.

Kizo's 2008 program consisted of several extremely high profile non commercial exhibitions which included: In Honour of Rorkes Drift 1960 to 1970‚ Wilma Cruise and Dinkies Sithole amongst others. In 2009 we launched the 2010 African Fine Art Collection, coordinated and managed the Heritage Arts Festival and The Heritage Awards. We consistently attract between 350 and 500 people to our popular exhibition openings.

Kizo curated an exhibition at The United Nations by invitation in 2006, and jointly curated the Satyagraha Exhibition‚ as a collaboration between South African and Indian artists that was inaugurated by The President of India in New Delhi in 2006. This exhibition then traveled to South Africa and was launched at Kizo Gateway on its arrival.

Kizo is managed by Craig Mark who has more than 20 years experience in the South African arts industry. Mr Mark has coordinated exhibitions in New York, Philadelphia, Cardiff, The United Kingdom, India, Switzerland, at the elections at Nasrec, The World Summit for Sustainable Development, The World Parks Congress, The International Revenue Congress at the Arabella Sheraton in 2008, a private showing for The G20 at Kizo Gateway and numerous others.

Craig Mark has also played an important role in the South African performing arts industry. He has worked closely with director, producer, and composer Mbongeni Ngema and has contributed funding to several of Mr Ngema's productions and music albums including: The Zulu, Jumaima and My Baby amongst others.

Craig Mark is also the managing director of 2010 Fine Art, the company that has been granted a license to fine art for the first time in the history of a FIFA World Cup.

Craig and Barbie are also directors of Tribal Expressions, the company that is coordinating an important exhibition entitled Space‚ Currencies in African Contemporary Art on behalf of the City of Johannesburg and the Department of Arts and Culture during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The Artists of Africa, as the exhibition is also known, has been recognized as an Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Host City Johannesburg Event.
